Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • Define terms and to be able to reproduce mathematical sentences.
  • Be able to perform and classify methods and concepts of the content subareas in order to be able to work on tasks in the corresponding exercises.
  • Use sentences and methods for the calculation of practical examples from the topic areas and to modify and carry them out for the concrete task.
  • Establish relationships with the topics offered in the previous (mathematical) courses.
  • In the thematic areas use mathematically conclusions instead of carrying out lengthy calculations.

  • Generalised functions and integral transformations
  • Vector analysis
  • Elements of higher analysis (function spaces and linear operators)
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Selected chapters of numerical mathematics

Teaching methods

Panel presentation for an introduction to the facts and presentation of the mathematical concepts, sentences and solution methods. First introductory examples support the introduction and deepening and bridge the tasks in the associated exercises.
