After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand housing and the corresponding forms of housing in different spatial, cultural and geographical contexts. Students acquire the competence to quickly analyse the parameters of living in different places and under different social conditions in order to develop an appropriate methodology for the development of appropriate housing and settlement forms.
The module "Living in Context" starts with the deepening of living in a particular context. In the courses offered, the range of influences on living as structured parameters should be conveyed. On the one hand, housing is regarded as a focus of social, urban and process-oriented spaces of action, and on the other hand, its spatial and architectural formulation is analysed as a new context. The module is thus less concerned with housing itself, but rather with the surroundings of housing and its effects on society and (urban) landscape.
