After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyze traditional and contemporary industrial, commercial and public buildings and processes and to reproduce the findings in the context of a term paper. 

Industrial building seminar with excursion

Date: 18-20 May 2022

Excursion: "The first car-free IKEA".

Tour guided by an architect from querkraft office, in German language.

Start of the tour on 18.05.2022 from 09:00h - 11:00h followed by a Q&A session.

Lectures Industrial Building Seminar: Within the framework of the 25th International Industrial Building Seminar.

2 lectures must be attended as part of the Industrial Building Seminar. One on the first Day of the Seminar (19.05) and one on the second (20.05).

Afterwards they should be briefly commented on in the seminar paper.

Traditional and contemporary industrial, commercial and public buildings will be visited and analyzed during an interdisciplinary excursion. Specialist lectures and discussions will be held as part of the 25th Industrial Building Seminar.

Information to the term paper:

• The term paper consists of a cover sheet and at least 2 A4 pages with a total of at least 500 words.
• The term paper must be written in German or English language.
• The term paper must be provided with source and image credits.
• The term paper should not only summarize the innovative peculiarities, which are shown in the lectures, but also discuss them critically.
• Your own opinion on this topic should be incorporated into the work by pointing out possible problems, proposing solutions and highlighting additional possibilities.

You must fulfil the following conditions to pass the course with a positive grade:

• Attendance at the 2 lectures (1 Lecture 19.05. and 1 Lecture 20.05)
• Presence during the excursion.
• Create a term paper for the lectures and the excursion.
