After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

• reproduce basic business definitions
• distinguish between possible corporate forms
• explain the principles of cost accounting and financial reporting
• create balance sheets
• interpret balance sheet key figures
• carry out financial planning
• explain different types of taxes

The focus of this lecture is on corporate accounting. Based on the fundamentals of a company (legal forms), the individual components of the annual financial statements are dealt with. Subsequently, the most important key figures on the basis of which a company can be analysed are explained. In the course of the lecture, groups and tax aspects will be dealt with. The methods for achieving the learning outcomes are:

• lecture with the possibility to ask a question

• additional self-study with the help of the textbook
• transcript of presented lecture contents as a supplement to the textbook

Für die Teilnahme an der Prüfung ist eine fristgerechte Anmeldung in TISS erforderlich. Studierende, welche die Anmeldefrist nicht einhalten, können nicht zur Prüfung antreten. Eine Abmeldung ist bis 2 Arbeitstage vor dem Prüfungstermin möglich. Studierende, welche ohne vorherige Abmeldung nicht bei der Prüfung erscheinen, werden gem § 18a der Studienrechtlichen Bestimmungen (Mitteilungsblatt 2014, 3. Stück; Nr. 22) für 8 Wochen von der Anmeldung zu dieser Prüfung ausgeschlosse

Die Prüfung besteht aus einem Multiple Choice Teil (ca. 50%), einem Rechenbeispiel (ca. 15%) und Freitextfragen bzw. halboffenen Fragen (ca. 35%).

Bei der Prüfung darf ein nicht-programmierbarer Taschenrechner verwendet werden. Bewertung Multiple Choice Fragen: Die Anzahl der Punkte auf eine Frage sagt nichts über die Anzahl der richtigen Antworten aus. Werden weniger als alle richtigen Antwortmöglichkeiten markiert, so werden Teilpunkte vergeben. Werden eine oder mehrere falsche Antwortmöglichkeiten markiert, so wird diese Frage mit Null Punkten bewertet.
