After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

- find their way through the test procedures used in road engineering

- describe differences between empirical and performance-based identification testing and choose the optimal test regime depending on the project

- interpret and critically review test reports by taking into account statistical uncertainties

- present test results for an audience in a targeted way

 

Subject of course

Basics about CE-Marking, Overview over standards and regulations, empricial and performance based identfication testing of asphalt mixtures

Basics of test methods for road materials

Apply knowledge in hands-on lab works for bitumen, mineral aggregates and asphalt mixtures
