Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand mobile communication technologies of 4. and 5. generation mobile networks. Especially in the field of MIMO technologies and in-depth understanding will be developed.

Subject of course

This lecture starts out with a detailed overview of fourth generation MIMO wireless technologies (3GPP LTE), in order to discuss on top of this the most important technologies for fifth generation mobile networks

  •  4G and 5G Technology Overview
  •  Single-User MIMO Transmission
  •  Multi-User MIMO Transmission
  •  The MIMO Interference Channel (IC)

 

Teaching methods

The contents of the course will be presented with mathematical models and partially visualized with simulations.

The lecture will initally take place remotely via TUWEL, provided there is sufficient interest. Starting on 22.04, the lecture will then take place on Wednesdays between 14:45 and 16:45 in SEM 389-02 (room no. CG 0402).
