After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe the role of smart grids in a future power system and discuss the factors driving smart grids. They can describe the general architecture and communication technologies used in smart grids and can evaluate realized smart grid projects in Austria and all over the world.

Corona update for the new regulations of Nov. 2020:
The exam is done by TUWEL. The new examination form is multiple choice questions. There are also few single-choice questions.
Please note, a connection in Zoom Meeting is mandatory. See the instructions in TUWEL.
The processing time is 30 minutes for 30 questions. 15 minutes before start of the are reserved for identity verification.
A time period of 3 minutes is granted so that you do not have to start "on point". In any case, the exam ends 33 minutes after the starting time.
Your attempt will be automatically handed in at the end of the exam.
You can score 3 points per question, partial points are possible, at least one answer per question is correct.
Deductions are made within a question if the answer choices are wrong.
For orientation the name of the lecturer is given for each question.
Regarding the 6. Exam for WS 2019 - you can switch between the questions. Due to the technical nature of TUWEL, the questions and answers will be written in German and English - in case of doubt, the German version will prevail.
