After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
- use electrical measuring instruments on simple circuits and to measure different electrical quantities- understand the basic principles of power electronics and be able to use the oscilloscope at an intermediate level- understand and interpret the operating characteristics of asynchronous and direct current machines, and determine the power in three-phase systems- determine the function of simple digital and analog electronic circuits and specifically determine their operating characteristics. to realize differentiators and integrators and to measure their capacities with the oscilloscope
Current, voltage, power, resistance measurement in d.c., a.c. and three phase circuits, measurements of electrical and non-electrical quantities, utilization of oscilloscopes, examination of rectifier circuits and DC-to-DC converter, operational behaviour and variable speed drives of d.c. and induction machines, examination of electronical circuits, sensors and digital technique.
Laborotory exercise
The laboratory exercise is split into multiple parts, where each part has mandatory attendance. Non-attendance will result in a failing grade of the course.
Each laboratory exercise part includes a preparation for the relevant topics required to perform all operations and measurements of the respective exercise. It is also used to check the required linguistic skills in German or English. If the laboratory instructor does not approve with the shown results, he/she has the right to exclude the student from the laboratory exercise to minimize the safety risk for all participants.
Any inquiries/questions related to this laboratory exercise must be sent to lehre-ieam@tuwien.ac.at.
Use Group Registration to register.
The student must have at least 2 of the course(s) completed listed below:
