Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand major changes challenges in the transport sector from an economic and environmental point of view, and to have profound knowledge on alternative fuels and alternative powertrains for passenger car mobility.

Subject of course

This lecture will start with an overview of historical developments in the transport sector and discussion of the major indicators of transport with the special focus on passenger car mobility. Different kinds of alternative fuels and alternative automotive technologies will be examined from an economic and environmental point of view. Moreover, relevant policy targets and measures we be discussed as well as long-term scenarios. The analysis will be conducted from technical, economic and environmental point of view.
