Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply knowledge of selected topics in energy and environmental economics. They understand the connection between different energy sectors, energy services, and the environment.

Subject of course

Building on the introductory courses in energy economics this lecture will explore in more detail selected aspects of the energy value chain. Starting from the resource perspective on the supply side (fossils, nuclear, renewable energies, biomass systems), final energy service sectors (transport, heating) will be discussed subsequently. The coordination of supply and demand side takes place on markets, in this lecture emphasis will be put on the particularities of energy markets.
