Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: UE Exercise

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to perform basic parameterization and testing of protection devices for electrical machines and systems. They will be able to calculate current and voltage conditions for phase-to-ground-failures in three-phase systems with different neutral grounding and to measure and understand the problem of the feedback effects of non-linear loads on the electrical system. Students can perform a simplified test of the dielectric strength of an air-insulated disconnector with high alternating voltage and impulse voltage.

Subject of course

Phase-to-Ground-Failures in transmission networks, measurements on power protection devices, protection devices against dangerous body currents, power quality, high voltage testing of disconnector

Teaching methods

Group work, execution and documentation of measurements, script

Mode of examination

Written and oral
