After successful completion of the course, students are able to

• derive analytical solutions for simple quantum mechanical systems and processes.
• Develop computer code to numerically solve quantum mechanical problems.

This exercise course runs in parallel with the lecture Quantum Electronics. One part of this course deals with the analytical solution of problems related to the lecture. In the second part students will implement numerical solution methods. In this way more complex quantum systems can be addressed that are not amenable to analytical methods Choice of the programming language is up to the student. Most frequently phyton or matlab are used.

Die Vorbesprechung wird ebenso wie die Lehrveranstaltung in  Präsenz abgehalten. Die Vorbesprechung findet am 4. Oktober 2023 gemeinsam mit der Vorbesprechung der Vorlesung Quantenelektronik statt. Die Rechenübungen beginnen am 5. Oktober 2023. Beginnzeit ist jeweils 9.00 pünktlich.

A certain number of sample calculations have to be carried out and a few out of those presented on the blackboard. Furthermore, two programs have to be developed.
