Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • scientifically  solve a technical problem set on their own.
  • study the relevant literature.
  • evaluate and apply different strategies to solve the given problem.
  • summarize their findings in a bachelor thesis according to scientific standards and present their work to a professional audience

Subject of course

Preparation of a bachelor thesis.

Definition of a scientific problem that can be solved within the given time frame with a supervisor. Definition of the solution (milestones, partial goals, objectives). Working on the problem partly alone, partly under guidance, partly with the help of a team. Regular success control of the partial steps. Continuous documentation of the task, the solution and the results as well as the literature used.

Presentation of the work to an expert audience at the supervising institute.

Teaching methods

Definition of a scientific question, independent processing of the task, regular discussion of the partial results with the supervisor.
