Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to able to analyze and apply the basic principles of electronic power supplies and switched-mode power supplies with DC output, especially for the supply of computers, telecom equipment, industrial controls, medical electronics.

Subject of course

Comprehensive survey of electronic power supply systems, especially of switch-mode power supplies (SMPS); detailed analysis and design of isolated and non-isolated DC-to-DC converters, resonant converters, gate drivers, active and passive circuit components, discussion of the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of SMPS.
