  • understand the current resource situation (with a focus on metals)
  • recognise the mutual influence of different measures against the threatening scarcity of resources
  • make an active contribution to the circular economy in their later careers.

  • Economic, social and political impacts of resource scarcity
  • State-of-the-art of possible solutions:
    - Design for Environment
    - Cleaner Production and industrial symbiosis
    - Alternative use models (product-service-shift)
    - End-of-Life Management (Collection, refurbishment, re-use of product and components, material recycling, energy recovery)
  • Practical case studies from leading companies
  • End of waste – when will waste become a resource?
  • Future trends in research and industry
