Properties

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

to design a lightweight structure by application of the knowledge from LVA „317.531 VU Leichtbau“
to operate the hard- and software to measure force, displacement, and strain
to perform (under supervision) the ultimate load experiment

Measuring methods for materials for lightweight structures. Design/Manufacturing/Testing of "your" lightweight framework.

Working in groups of three to four students.

Application of the knowledge from LVA „317.531 VU Leichtbau“ to design a cantilever beam.

Fabrication under supervision.

Introduction into measurement hard- and software; definition of the measurement protocol.

Testing of the beam and discussion of the mode of failure with all students.

Writing of report, consisting of several parts.
