Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to bring their knowledge about hybrid vehicles into a technical discussion. The lecture deals with the topics: topologies and classification of hybrid vehicles, benefits, options and components of hybrid drives as well as powertrain management and operating strategies.

Subject of course

A basic overview of the area of HEV is given. The contents of the lecture are arranged as follows:

Teaching methods

The lecture will give an insight into the different topologies and classes of hybrid vehicles, benefits, options and components of hybrid drives as well as powertrain management and operating strategies. Using examples of running hybrid vehicles, the previously explained content of the lecture will be demonstrated and deepened.

PLEASE NOTE: All exams at our institute are to be taken in GERMAN!

Exams to this course take place (in writing) at the institute's monthly exam dates (the dates can be seen on our homepage or on the TISS page of lecture 315.282 "KFZ-Technik", all dates given there are potential exam dates for this course). The course will not be examined every single month, but - depending on demand and space in the lecture hall - as often as possible! Registrations are only possible for the next possible exam date!

Exam registrations and de-registrations take place in TISS (if an exam date has already been posted). If there is no exam date visible in TISS, please send an e-mail to, specifying the course, your matriculation number and your study code.

As all our written exams take place in parallel, registration for only one exam is permitted per exam date! Multiple registrations will not be tolerated! Failure to turn up to an exam to which the student has registered will result in an 8-week ban on the exam (in accordance with section 18a of the Statute on Study Law)! De-registrations after the registration deadline will not be considered!
