After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyze the complex electrical system architectures within vehicles and engines and assign the complex electrical systems around the powertrain.
- Engine and powertrain control
- Communication standards (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, etc.)
- OBD legislation (SAE, ISO, ASAM)
Presentation of the individual chapters with logically coherent image and text documentation, joint development of decision-making principles, brainstorming on selected topics.

PLEASE NOTE: All exams at our institute are to be taken in GERMAN!
Exams to this course take place (in writing) at the institute's monthly exam dates (the dates can be seen on our homepage www.ifa.tuwien.ac.at or on the TISS page of lecture 315.282 "KFZ-Technik", all dates given there are potential exam dates for this course). The course will not be examined every single month, but - depending on demand and space in the lecture hall - as often as possible! Registrations are only possible for the next possible exam date!
Exam registrations and de-registrations take place in TISS (if an exam date has already been posted). If there is no exam date visible in TISS, please send an e-mail to info@ifa.tuwien.ac.at, specifying the course, your matriculation number and your study code.
As all our written exams take place in parallel, registration for only one exam is permitted per exam date! Multiple registrations will not be tolerated! Failure to turn up to an exam to which the student has registered will result in an 8-week ban on the exam (in accordance with section 18a of the Statute on Study Law)! De-registrations after the registration deadline will not be considered!
