describe the basic mechanisms and physical principles of characterization techniques using X-ray, electron, as well as neutron radiation/diffraction for analyzing structural and morphological features in metallic materials.
Hyrarchic structure of alloys: aromistic, crystals, grains, defects, phases, phase boundaries, phase kinetics, three-dimensional architecture; Interactions with electromagnetic waves (X-rays, synchrotron, electrons) and particle radiation (neutrons): absorption, diffraction, phase contrast; TEM, SEM, phase identification, macro- and micro stresses, tomography
