Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply the knowledge, which they have acquired in lectures, to  problems of mechanical engineering in the framework of a practical project. They are capable of understanding a mechanical engineering problem and to solve it.

Analyses of a Material/Component with different analytic methods (e.g. metallography, microscopy, diffraction methods) Composition of a report on the experimental results Derivation of the deformation mechanisms Compilation of provisions for damage prevention

Practical work on a mechanical engineering topic; construction; materials characterization with metallographical methods; mechanical characterization on a testing device;
