Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to work out topics that have been brought to them in technically and scientifically adequat manner. They are capable of extracting information from scientific literature, text books as well as online sources and assemble this information into a global picture.

Subject of course

Choice of an example of material application in mechanical engineering, elaboration of requirements, comparison with materials performance, selction of shaping methods, cheking of specific characterisation methods.

Teaching methods

Literature survey to an agreed topic and final presentation of the results in the framework of an adequate institute event (e.g., materialsTUday).
