Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • analyze existing products with respect to their advantages and disadvantages.
  • share, discuss, and defend their ideas.
  • plan and develop a product according to given framework conditions.
  • use common methods and tools in each development phase (e.g. ABC analysis, design for X, etc.).
  • calculate the manufacturing costs.

The students become qualified to solve typical questions that are related to product planning, design, development, production, and assembly. At the same time, students learn to organize autonomously. This includes the communication and presentation of ideas, their discussion with colleagues, and their defense in front of a jury.

In this course, the students deepen their knowledge in the research fields that are part of integrative product development. Doing so, the previously gained knowledge is widened and linked.
