Introductory examples on modeling of machine dynamical systems. Geometrical and kinematical characteristics of planar mechanisms. Equations of motion and constrained forces of SDOF-mechanisms. Examples: circular cam drive, crank gear mechanism, drive train of a pump. Steady state speed variation of mechanisms, oscillating unbalance and inertial forces of crank drive machines, balancing of oscillation forces. Vibrations of linear MDOF-Systems. Extended modelling of torsional drive trains. Gear and belt drives with and without torsion to bending vibration coupling. Bending vibrations of shafts and rotors. Vibration effects to humans, buildings and machines.
Written exam (2 hours), open book test. Following a positive written exam, an oral exam has to be past.
Knowledge on the content on "vibrations" of the lecture Mess- und Schwingungstechnik is required! It is also advantageous having completed Mechanik 2, since the lecture is partly based on the contents of the lecture Mechanik 2.
