The climate crisis is one of the major challenges of our time. Every aspect of the climate crisis also has a gender dimension: the contribution to the causes, the affectedness of the impacts, and the mitigation solutions are different.
Today, the various impacts of climate change – especially on women – are receiving growing attention. Yet, the important role of women in climate negotiations, as drivers of change, and in natural resource management is often overlooked.
The aim of this transdisciplinary SummerSchool is, on the one hand, to collect basic data and to explore the need for research and, on the other hand, to identify possible actions for rural regions. The following questions form the starting point:
What impact does the climate crisis have on different genders? Which changes are necessary?
What do they need – which spatial and infrastructural framework conditions have to be established?
Which hard and soft location factors need to be put in place? Who can provide this (public, private, ...)?
The SummerSchool will take place at landuni Drosendorf. Public lectures will be held during the SummerSchool. In addition, the Drosendorf population will be involved in workshops and impulse events.
The students will work in interdisciplinary groups of architects and spatial planners.
The course takes place in cooperation with the landuni Drosendorf.
It is eligible for credit as a supplementary course in elective modules 2 and 3.
