Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the key figures of tourism and the dynamics relevant to tourism planning. Relevant data and documents are collected, interpreted and applied to planning tasks in a self-organized way.

Furthermore, students are able to comprehensively assess and analyze sustainability aspects in tourism planning. In particular, they have knowledge of the current challenges in developing country tourism and in dealing with world heritage.

Basic knowledge is taught in frontal lectures, which are interspersed with discussions in small groups. Students work independently in groups on topics and present them. A book review is to be written.

  • Quality of the book review

  • Quality of the preparation/presentation of a topic collaboration

Registration modalities

The registration will be activated individually for all courses of the module on 15.09.2022!

In order to ensure a practical seminar and exercise, a maximum of 30 students of the bachelor programme "Spatial Planning and Spatial Development" will be admitted. The "first come, first served" principle applies and there will be no ranking by the lecturers!

IMPORTANT! Since there is no overall registration for the module, we ask only those students to register who would like to take the entire module or need individual module lectures as a supplement. For all students registered in TISS, the kick-off date is mandatory to confirm the registration for the LVAs of the module. If this event is missed, other students will move up from the waiting list.
