After successful completion of the course, students are able to:
- understand the legal basics of Austrian planning and building law;
- understand the division of competences concerning legislation and implementation in the field of planning and building law,
- apply in administrative practice the basics of building law, especially approval procedures and substantive building law as,
- understand the basics of planning law, especially the regulatory system, objectives and measures of local and regional spatial planning,
- understand interactions between building- and planning regulations,
- point out the consequences of illegal building.
An overview of Austrian building and planning law: division of competences: demarcation from other legal matters, responsibilities in legislation and enforcement; Fundamentals of building law, in particular approval procedures and substantive building law as well as legal protection; Basics of planning law, in particular regulation system, goals and measures of regional and municipal spatial planning; Interactions between building and planning regulations.
The lecture will be held in the Hybrid-Modus. This means that the lectures will take place physically in the lecture hall and will be supported by the TUWEL-Course (where materials will be uploaded). If the pandemic situation makes it necessary, we will have to switch to online lectures via Zoom. This will be announced in advance.
