Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to... understand the following contents of project management and deal with them in a planning context:

  • the nature and basic structure of a project (Definitions: project, project portfolio, program; characteristics of projects)
  • Instruments for preparing a project (project development as a process, structured exposé, resource determination, definition of objectives)
  • Project planning instruments (structure plan, network plan, resource plan, time schedule, environment analysis, risk analysis)
  • Instruments of project monitoring (resource control, schedule control, target control, quality assurance)
  • Communication as a building block of project success: tools (presentation, workshop, report, digital formats) and strategies (participation, communication design)

Subject of course

Essential contents are therefore basic concepts and instruments in project management, which are tested in the course by means of concrete tasks.

In einem kleinen Team erarbeiten die TeilnehmerInnen folgende Elemente:

  • Projektentwurf: Ausarbeitung einer konkreten Projektskizze und Aufbereitung in einem Exposee
  • Projektplanung: Detaillierte Planung des Projektes unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von Projektzielen, Projektstruktur, Zeit und Ressourcenkomponenten
  • Projektabwicklung und -controlling: Abwicklung des Projektes unter Verwendung von wesentlichen kontroll- und Steuerungsmechanismen
  • Projektpräsentation und -evaluierung: Aufbereitung und Präsentation der Ergebnisse
