Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe the basic structures, functions and objectives of environmental law, to identify legal issues in this field of law and to work on them systematically. 

Subject of course

Introduction to the basic principles of environmental law - Constitutional aspects of environmental law - EU-environmental legislation - Basic principles of international environmental law - Selected instruments of environmental legislation - Strategic Environmental Assessment - Environmental Impact Assessment - Waste management law - Water legislation - Climate protection after the Paris Agreement - Emissions trading

Teaching methods

The subject matter will be presented, discussed with the students and practiced with case examples.
