After successful completion of the course, students are able to develop a deeper understanding of the specific problems of rural and alpine communities and the associated planning challenges: urban sprawl, soil resources, building culture, nature, mobility and infrastructure, tourism, etc.

For the municipality of Freienfeld in South Tyrol (IT), a forward-looking landscape and urban development concept for the center is being elaborated and urban planning and open space planning solutions are being developed in selected sub-areas.
