Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply the acquired knowledge and the specialist terminology. They will have a basic competence to analyse open space and green space in context of the surrounding built-up areas, to understand them according to their use and function. During the design studio students will develop integrated design solutions for urban open spaces which combine ecological, design and user-specific requirements.

Subject of course

The course provides basic theoretical and design knowledge on the development of sustainable green and open spaces at different scales as well as on different specialist planning tasks and issues.

"This group is reserved exclusively for students who have already completed the basics of urban planning design (at another university) and ONLY need the VU Basics of Landscape Architecture Design or have not been given a place in the special group in SoSe 23!!!".
