After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyse urban planning phenomena site-specifically, to understand them in context and to reflect on them, depending on the topic and excursion destination.
Direct experience of urban design situations, is indispensable to teaching urban design. The excursions serve as a means to study closely particular settings on the ground. Trips have as their ultimate goal the development of skills in perception. They are meant to convey clearly to students a repertoire of possibilities for comparison and judgment. Preferable destinations are significant historical urban achievements, but also, locations, which exhibit contemporary tendencies in urban design.
