Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • develop an architectural design by considering context and background as well as specific aspects of the given design task, such as hierarchies of space, orientation, appropriateness balance of nature and architecture, dimensions, proportions, construction and materials.
  • understand architecture as an immersive spatial experience.

Subject of course

With the aim of densifying urban living space, roof areas of existing buildings can be developed as building sites for small residential modules. Combining sustainability and climate-friendly construction with functionality, aesthetics and quality of life is the central theme of this design course.
