After successful completion of the course, students are able to grasp the vast transformations that are being brought about by the ongoing processes of digitalization within the big picture of Digital Architectonics: they understand the principle structure of the internet (internet technologies), have acquired basic literacy in coding and digital modeling (up to game engines), have encountered the principle methods of machine intelligence (Big Data and Internet of Things).
The lecture "Architecture and Digitization" introduces the relationship between coding and mathematics into a digital perspective on architecture. This includes knowledge about the general structure of the Internet (Internet technology), basic coding skills (Lambda Calculus, Wolfram Mathematica) and modeling up to game engines (Unity3D). Furthermore: grammars and parametrics for building design, building information systems, questions of energy, the Internet of Things, big data and methods of machine intelligence.
Presentations, lectures, discussions.
Active participation in the discussions, written essay.
