After successful completion of the course, students are able to design, calculate and construct a multifunctional high-rise in a resource-conserving manner, using mixed timber and timber constructions, among other things. They can develop both ecological and economical system solutions. Students will be able to describe the fundamental aspects of the choice of materials and construction, including historical buildings.
The project work includes design, calculation and construction as well as conceptual development of a multifunctional building using efficient building technique, inter alia, with wood-based constructions.
Apart from the technical aspects, interdisciplinary questions and economic perspectives are dealt. Criteria for sustainability in large-volume buildings are also given.
Inventory analysis and documentation.
Through the analytical analysis of realized buildings, design methods are learned and trained.
