Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to design and calculate structural timber and timber hybrid constructions in consideration of all technical and standard-based requirements. The students are also able to combine their structural skills with further technical knowledge to ensure the functional integrity of timber-based multi-story structures.

Special sections of timber engineering design.

Teaching methods

The course consists of a lecture and an exercise part, drawn up independently by the students in homeworks. The computational methods neccessary for the exercise part will be explained during the lectures.

  • All lecture units in the 2024 summer semester will be held by conventional classroom teaching (lecture time 11:15-14:00).
  • In the case of changing covid-restrictions distance learning may be applied.
  • This principle is similarly valid for written exams at the end of the semester.
