After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

Objectives of this course are:

teaching structural and constructional characteristics of different building materials
simplified and comprehensible demonstration of security & failure concepts according to Eurocode
simplified dimensioning of load bearing components according to Eurocode for common building materials and simple applications

Subject of course

This course expands the contents of the course 254.087 "Statics". Existing knowledge will be improved (safety theories) and expanded by simplified structural design methods for further building materials (reinforced concrete, glass, masonry).
