After successful completion of the course, students are able to represent a spatial intervention in the form of mock-ups or models. They learn to develop an idea with simple methods, to implement it and to make it possible to experience it spatially. After completing various stages of the design work, the exercise helps to clarify the ideas and the real possibilities of implementation.
The course shows how space is defined. The choice of construction material (material and immaterial) influences the result. Building is a social process that shapes the constitution of space and the perception of space. Planning and construction processes are discussed with the students on the basis of an exercise example and implemented, documented and presented in the form of a small, manageable project on a 1:1 scale.
