After successful completion of the course, students are able to complete a building project and possess basic knowledge of  research-based work. Students will be able to work with different methods of specific research  and gain an understanding of how to approach a specific building task. The course topics incude methods of research practices, interdiszciplinary approaches, and correct use of methods while working on a specific building project.

Mudbrick-Building-Techniques in historical Wine Cellars: Practice-Workshop

We will explore the Weinviertel region in Austria, the evolution of terraced vinyards, cellar lanes and vernacular architecture. We want to try out various historical materials and construction techniques that are connected to the architecture of cellar lanes.  Our goal is to gain an understanding of this very specific cultural heritage and explore different strategies how to use old buildings techniques to repair and preserve this heritage by including new functions.Hands-on-workshops will take place on site.
