After successful completion of the course, students are able to to conceive an exhibition and a symposium, they acquire theoretical basics and practical key qualifications for the field of curating through the exchange with renowned female architects and experts in the field of modern sacred buildings and by preparing their own posters for the exhibition and writing short and well-founded texts for the catalogue.

In the LVA Part I, after an overview of the sacred buildings in the Islamic countries and in the diaspora between the 1940s and today, the far-reaching processes of change have already been analysed and discussed in exemplary fashion. Taking into account the rapid technical and economic progress, the question of an international modernity or a global architecture against the background of Muslim conceptualized architecture is in the foreground.

After submitting an academic paper, the students will visit the individual mosques and make contact with the responsible architects and Islamic cultural communities or conduct interviews and discussions. The question of what a sacred building needs nowadays and what its appearance should be like is examined and analysed on the basis of floor plans, photographs and plans. The results will be presented in an architectural context in the form of posters in an exhibition and contributions will be written for a catalogue.

Das "Spezialthema" der LVA in diesem Semseter steht thematisch im Zusammenhang mit dem kleinen Entwerfen 251.862 alte Strukturen :: neu GElebt und wird als vertiefende, nicht verpflichtende, LVA angeboten. Deshalb werden TeilnehmerInnen des Entwerfens bei der Anmeldung vorgereiht.

Beim 1. Termin am 10.10. wird das Programm vorgestellt und im Anschluss werden die Anmeldungen fixiert und die verfügbaren Plätze vergeben.
