After successful completion of the course, students are able to work scientifically and to analyse, as well to present arguments and connections to post-war modernism and the preservation of historical monuments. This seminar opens up a broad professional horizon, which enables students to understand the requirements for the preservation of historical monuments that are relevant today and to grasp the share expected from architects. In this seminar the students learn the basics of scientific work, i. e. they independently carry out research in archives and libraries, apply correctly direct and indirect quotations, present on-site and write a seminar paper. The seminar request students to sound the depth of their personal competence, to assess their individual inclinations and interests and, with regard to their future occupation, to sharpen their values, their ability to criticise and their special responsibility.
