Understanding the architecture of a place requires a range of documentation methods. The course offers the opportunity to learn about and practically apply approaches, eg. cultural and social anthropology, history, art history and spatial planning.
In introductory lectures, different methods are presented and discussed in which way collaborative work with experts from different disciplines can be implemented.
The aim is the practical application and final implementation with the help of the medium of film with a concept as the result.
This semester the course is offered in combination with the module Cultural Spaces.
The topic of the Cultural Spaces module in the summer semester 2022 is
A new townscape protection concept for Bad Aussee
In cooperation with representatives of the municipality of Bad Aussee, the history of the town, the existing townscape protection concept and the necessity of revising it will be discussed and intensive documentation of the existing situation will be carried out. On the basis of these investigations, ideas for new impulses for the protection of the townscape and at the same time possible further development of the village will be developed.
This LVA serves to capture the site with the medium of film and to use the created features to communicate the concepts.
The aim is to capture the architecture, lifestyle and infrastructure of the place in order to use them as a basis for in-depth considerations in the design process.
After introductory lectures in March, measurements, interviews, filming and observation will be carried out on the basis of the concept worked out in advance during the excursion in Bad Aussee.
