After successful completion of the course, students are able to critically question fundamental scientific working methods, methods and basic terms of the subject of art history and apply them independently.
In the winter semester 2023/24, the “Modul Architektur- und Kunstgeschichte” is dedicated to the semantics of post-modern architecture.
In the module-accompanying course “Methodologie und Terminologie”, basic scientific working methods, specialist terminology and methodologies of the subject of art history are taught. This provides the participants with preparatory support with regard to the presentations to be given in the advanced seminar and the homework to be written. These include: Basic principles of scientific work, research and organization of information as well as the basics of architectural description and analysis, elaboration of the state of research and sources, formulation of a research question, structure and procedure for the presentation and for the written work.
The course Architektur- und Kunstgeschichte Methodologie und Terminologie is offered as part of the "Modul Architektur- und Kunstgeschichte", but can also be attended by participants in the "Wahlseminar" of the Art History Department if interested.
