After successful completion of the course, students are able to transfer the (art) historical questions and problems debated in the module to contemporary topics and thus determine and classify the relevance of what they have learned.
In the winter semester 2022/23, the “Module Architecture and Art History” questions the internationality of the Viennese architecture around 1900. In the associated lecture series “Aktuelle Tendenzen”, lectures by experts from related disciplines - relevant in theory and practice - deal with contemporary aspects, questions of monument preservation and current research fields.
The content of the lecture series is closely linked to the specific research topic of the module. In addition to the seminars, current trends in architecture and research are shown and discussed in the lecture series together with invited experts. In independently formulated essays, the students reflect on relevant issues and take a position on the content.
