After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently acquire in-depth background knowledge and assess the relevance and validity of scientific theses in the history of architecture and art history.
The course is coordinated with the advanced seminar of the “Module Architecture and Art History”. The architecture and art history module in the 2020/21 winter semester is dedicated to the Austrian baroque architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach (1656–1723).
The students develop their skills in the critical analysis of historical buildings and sources as well as through joint reading discussions; In addition, they will transfer the results of their work from the Architectural History seminar to posters and present them in a poster exhibition at the end of the semester.

Seminar dates: Thursdays, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, online via Zoom and TUWEL
Some units take place together with the methodology seminar (251.679)!
- Obligation to participate
- Active participation and verifiable disputes with the reader texts
- Draft, revision and submission of a poster as well as participation in the poster exhibition at the end of the semester (in cooperation with the University Library of the Vienna University of Technology; more information will be announced).
