Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • to explain the organizational structure of a construction site
  • to design the construction process within the work preparation
  • describe the elements of the site equipment
  • to plan the site equipment for a project
  • to create the basis for invoicing
  • to calculate the economic success of a construction project

Subject of course

The focus in this course is put to be confronted with the solving of detailed problems in dimensioning and calculating the site installation as well as managerial functions during the production process. Methods of dimensioning elements of the site installation, assignment of personnel and machinery and conception and execution of selected examples will be presented as well as practical exercises in calculation will be trained. The important formulation, presentation and interpretation of the economic profit of the site is the completing focal point. Lecture parts:

  • 1 written review of the exercise success in the form of a written exam

Examination modalities

Proof of performance is due to the presence, exercises, exam (written) and student presentations. In total 100 points can be reached. Finally, an oral examination will take place. To participate in this examination, the following criteria must be met:

  • reached at least 51 points
  • reached at least 80% attendance at lecture and tutorial
  • attendance is mandatory at the first lecture date. A non-appearance leads to deregistration from the LVA
  • Exercises completed and delivered on time
  • In order to complete the LVA in a positive way, every exercise has to be handed in.
  • participated in written exam and got at least 18 out of 45 possible points (duration: 60 min)
  • presentation held (max. 2 students per group, 5 minutes per person) presentation topics will be issued in the course of the VO
  • Registration for the oral examination takes place after the presentation days via TUWEL

After the first performance, the LVA is binding part. Thus, an assessment is made at the end of the LVA.

Note: The times for the presentations and the oral exams may deviate from the indicated time in the TISS, depending on the number of students.
