Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to practical implement methods of traffic planning. They learned presentation techniques, dealing with authorities, databases and citizens' initiatives based on practical cases. The students develop the project solutions interdisciplinary with students from other universities.

Subject of course

International planning seminar held in cooperation with other universities.

The seminar includes the formulation of traffic concepts for communities, with focus on personal and/or freight transport, short and long term effect mechanisms, effects of transport systems on the economy, society and the environment, application of methods used in the practice to solve concrete problems.

Teaching methods

spatial and temporal definition of the planning area, mobility surveys, evaluation of mobility data, problem analysis, development of solutions, written and graphical representation of different options, presentation of the planning process

This year's transport seminar will be held from 6th to 13th March in cooperation with Shibaura Institute of Technology (Japan) in Vienna.
