Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

- understand the links between rheology, spectroscopy and microscopy of viscoelastic, organic construction materials, using bitumen as an example.

- interpret essential parameters for the description of these building materials

- formulate own research questions for scientific studies (diploma thesis, dissertation)

Subject of course

Theoretical introduction (introductory lecture) with background on viscoelastic, organic building materials, rheology, spectroscopy and microscopy.

Current research and findings in this field
