After successful completion of the course, students are able to have an overview of the diverse facets of urban walking and (sub-)urbancycling. This includes the (historic) evolution and today's significance as mode of transport, for leisure and in a social context.

The lecture series looks at (sub-)urban cycling from a multitude of viewpoints: The importance for a transport system of a city; planning for walking and cycling and design of riding and parking infrastructure; the history of cycling and bicycles; medical implications & safety; cultural importance and the state in society, and other topics.

The lecture includes talks on the many facets of urban walking and cycling. Talks are being enriched with interactive elements, such as live surveys on behaviour of the attending students or discussion of case studies.

Methode/Format Vorlesung:
Die Vorlesung findet im Präsenzmodus im angegebenen Hörsaal statt. Einzelne Vorträge werden hybrid abgehalten: Hörer/-innen im Hörsaal, Vortragende remote.

Prüfungsmodus:
Die Prüfungen werden voraussichtlich im Präsenzmodus abgehalten. Die Dauer der Prüfung beträgt 60 min.

Beurteilungsschema bei der Prüfung:
Die Beurteilung und die Punktevergabe bleibt unverändert: Für eine positive Note sind mindestens 15 von 30 Punkten notwendig.

Schriftlicher Leistungsnachweis.

Anwesenheitspflicht:
bei mindestens 9 von 13 Vorlesungen für einen Antritt zum schriftlichen Leistungsnachweis.
