After successful completion of the course, students are able to name basic concepts of ropeways and different ropeway systems. In addition, students can calculate rope forces and their effects, dimension ropes and design ropeways in longitudinal section. Furthermore, the students have experience in the calculation of a practical example through the elaboration of an exercise.

The exam consists of two parts: part B (calculations) and part LS (theoretical questions).
Students are allowed to use the lecture handout for part B, but not for part LS.
Basic knowledge of statics and strength theory is assumed.
