After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• to develop and formulate a research question autonomously
• summerize international publications and the state of the art on a selected scientific topic and cite correctly
• to develop and carry out suitable experiments and / or numerical simulations to answer the research question
• analyse the obtained experimental data based on scientific methods
• critically review and evaluate the results and findings gained in the context of the state of the art
• summarize findings from the scientific work in international journals

Scientific, technical topics in the field of road and airfield engineering

Formulation and discussion of the research question, review of the literature research and presentation of the state of the art, defintion of individual work and evaluation steps and regarding milestones, ongoing presentation of the work in joint seminars, co-authoring & correction of written journal contributions to publish the reseach results

Dates for seminars for doctoral students will be announced at the beginning of the semester. In addition, an individual written or telephone appointment with Prof. Blab is possible.

• fulfillment of milestones
• submission & acceptance of at at least three publications in international journals as author or co-author
• aprobation of the doctor thesis
